On 1 March 2026, a session titled “Unlocking Europe’s Mineral Raw Materials Potential: New Data, New Projects, New Opportunities” took place during the PDAC Convention in Toronto, Canada, bringing together more than 130 participants from across the global exploration ecosystem.
The session was organised by EuroGeoSurveys and the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR), with support from the Geological Service for Europe (GSEU) project. It highlighted how Europe is advancing mineral raw materials exploration through high-quality geoscience data, active exploration and development projects, and financing opportunities.
Participants emphasised Europe’s growing potential as an attractive destination for mineral exploration and investment. This potential is supported by publicly available geological information and coordinated European initiatives aimed at strengthening the mineral raw materials sector.
Following the event, a short summary was prepared capturing the key insights and outcomes of the discussion.
