EuroGeoSurveys has submitted its response to the European Commission's consultation on the future European Critical Raw Materials Centre, emphasizing the need for independent minerals intelligence and harmonised geological data to strengthen Europe's raw materials security, strategic decision-making, and resilience.

In its response, EuroGeoSurveys stresses that an effective European minerals intelligence system should combine industrial value chain analysis with comprehensive geological knowledge, including information on mineral occurrences, resources, reserves, exploration activities, and future domestic supply potential. The organisation also underlines the importance of integrating data generated through National Exploration Programmes under the Critical Raw Materials Act and providing independent scientific assessments to support investment decisions, supply risk analysis, and long-term resilience planning.

EuroGeoSurveys further highlights the role of the emerging Geological Service for Europe, developed through the GSEU project, as a future provider of continuously updated geological intelligence and authoritative information to support the European Critical Raw Materials Centre and strengthen Europe's raw materials strategy.
