The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has supported the second stage of the digital transformation of the geological industry of Ukraine.

Thanks to the new project, a significant part of geoinformation will be digitized, and the functionality of the State Geological Portal will receive a significant update.

State Enterprise "Geoinform of Ukraine" and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed an Agreement on the beginning of the second stage of implementation of the Memorandum on technical assistance for the digitization of secondary geological information, development of IT architecture and functionality of the State Geological Portal.

"This project is not just about scanning geological reports. We are creating convenient tools that simplify the search and access to geological data. Interactive maps, English-language services and a database of geological studies - all this will be useful to both Ukrainian and international users," said Pavlo Bovsunivskyi, Acting General Director of Geoinform Ukraine.

Digitization of geological information is part of the strategy to modernize the geological industry of Ukraine. Thanks to the support of international partners, in particular the EBRD, Ukraine is confidently moving towards the creation of a modern digital infrastructure in geology and subsoil use.
