The updated Instructions are intended to regulate the requirements for materials submitted for state expert review and to bring the regulatory provisions into line with the current Classification of Reserves and Resources. The document is also intended to replace the rules that have been in force since 1998.
Among the expected outcomes are the harmonisation of the national system with the United Nations Framework Classification of Resources (UNFC), the improvement of state-level accounting for subsoil areas, and the creation of conditions for a reliable assessment and expansion of the resource base of the fuel and energy sector.
Comments and proposals on the draft from businesses and the public will be accepted for one month from the date of its publication.
