The EITI portal has been updated: new tools provide fast access to data on extraction, payments and state participation even during martial law

Even under martial law, Ukraine continues implementing the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). In December, the national EITI portal was modernized with a bilingual version, new sections (“EITI Knowledge Base,” “Data Flows,” “State Company Procurement,” and “Systematic Disclosure”), and integration with national and international open resources such as Prozorro and OpenBudget. This allows the public and businesses to quickly access up-to-date information on payments, mineral extraction, and government activities in the sector.

In addition to technical upgrades, the project team conducted analytical work: processing data on revenues from the extractive sector, preparing reports on special permits for subsoil use, and establishing cooperation with the Ministry of Justice for automated updates on companies and their beneficiaries. An AI assistant is also being tested to help users easily find data on the portal, and cloud infrastructure ensures uninterrupted platform operation.
