The Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine hosted the first inaugural meeting of the Technical Working Group on Water Resources and Groundwater under the strategic sectoral cooperation between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Denmark.
The meeting marked the transition from planning to the practical implementation of projects aimed at modernizing water monitoring systems, improving data management, and protecting Ukraine’s strategic water reserves.
Participants discussed the group’s priorities for 2026, including organizational arrangements, meeting schedules, reporting formats, and the six-month work program. The discussions emphasized deepening cooperation in groundwater monitoring, enhancing the State Water Cadastre, and implementing European standards for water protection.
The strategic cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark in water resources and environmental protection for 2025–2028 was launched in October 2025 following the signing of the Work Plan for the “Water and Environment” sector.
