Ukraine and Denmark are strengthening their cooperation in the field of water management, focusing on the implementation of European standards, the modernisation of water infrastructure and the development of monitoring systems.

During the meeting of the Steering Committee for Strategic Sectoral Cooperation, the parties identified four priority areas for cooperation up to 2028: water and groundwater management, water supply, wastewater treatment and pollution control. Ukraine and Denmark have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of water resource monitoring, the introduction of modern water treatment technologies, the digitalisation of groundwater management, and the alignment of Ukrainian legislation with European standards.

Practical outcomes already include study visits by Ukrainian specialists to Denmark, the study of Danish digital groundwater management systems, and joint research on water supply in the city of Mykolaiv.
