The state budget has allocated 186.94 million hryvnias for the resumption of geological exploration, of which 43.9 million hryvnias will be allocated to prospecting and exploration-and-assessment work for strategic and critically important minerals, in particular iron and titanium ores, phosphates, apatites and rare-earth elements.
In addition to geological exploration, the funding will cover geological mapping, monitoring of groundwater and hazardous geological processes, research into the rational use of subsoil resources, scientific research and the digitisation of geological information. In total, the State Agency for Geology and Subsoil has identified 69 sites where a range of prospecting, research and monitoring activities are planned to be carried out by the end of the year. The programme aims to strengthen Ukraine’s mineral resource base, prepare promising sites to attract investors and secure strategic resources for the country.
