The State Labour Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Geological Survey have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of state regulation and supervision of enterprises engaged in the geological exploration, development, exploitation, liquidation or conservation of mineral deposits. The document was signed by Ihor Degner, Head of the State Labour Service, and Serhiy Vlasenko, Acting Head of the Ukrainian Geological Survey. The Memorandum provides for the exchange of information and analytical materials, the organisation of joint information and outreach events, as well as cooperation on improving the regulatory framework regarding subsoil use.
The parties will pay particular attention to issues relating to state mining regulation, the rational use of subsoil resources, monitoring of deposit development, and the development of information exchange between government departments. It is expected that the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum will help to enhance the effectiveness of state supervision, improve coordination between agencies and ensure the safe, transparent and responsible use of subsoil resources in Ukraine.
