The State Geological Survey of Ukraine discussed cooperation with British partners

Deepening interaction between Ukraine and the United Kingdom will open up new opportunities for investment and ensuring resource independence for both countries


The Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, Oleh Hotsynets, together with the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Yehor Perelygin, held a working meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine - First Secretary of the Embassy Julia Robinson and Energy Counselor Tetyana Temnyuk. The event focused on discussing potential cooperation between the two countries in the fields of geology and subsoil use.

The participants discussed key stages in the development of the national strategy on critical raw materials, including issues related to the development of the mineral resource base, international support, attraction of foreign investments, as well as ensuring transparency and environmental safety in the field of subsoil use.

The Head of Gosgeonadra emphasized the importance of strategic partnership with the United Kingdom, particularly highlighting the historic 100-Year Partnership Agreement signed this year between the UK and Ukraine, which secures long-term cooperation in the areas of security, energy, recovery, reform, and civil society development.

The British side, in turn, acknowledged Ukraine's progress in increasing transparency in the provision of services related to subsoil use, which creates a favorable environment for investment.

Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue. Such meetings reaffirm Ukraine’s commitment to sustainable development, energy security, and integration into global strategic resource markets.
