Acting Head of the State Geological Survey of Ukraine Serhiy Vlasenko on May 28, 2026 took part in the inaugural meeting of the Ukrainian-French Business Council

The meeting aims to open a new page in relations between Ukrainian and French businesses at the institutional level. During the meeting, Serhiy Vlasenko emphasized that the Geological Surveys of Ukraine and France have made significant progress in practical interaction, which was facilitated by the joint implementation of a practical project on the verification of a strategic raw material (graphite) deposit.

Such success stories are the shortest path to building cooperation and mutual trust and deserve to be scaled up in joint projects. Also this year, a Memorandum of Cooperation was concluded between the State Geological Survey of Ukraine and BRGM, which creates a framework for the implementation of specific joint projects in the geological field. Serhiy Vlasenko addressed business representatives regarding their participation in the mining sector of Ukraine, confirming the openness of the State Service for Geonadra to practical interaction with French companies.

The Council was established on February 4, 2026 within the framework of the Joint Ukrainian-French Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation and is designed to promote investment attraction, implementation of joint projects and expansion of the presence of Ukrainian companies in the French and European markets. On the French side, MEDEF International is the partner and co-chair.
