For prospective Master’s students in Geology, the Institute of Geology hosted an online webinar on July 9 titled “International Geological Projects with the Participation of Ukraine.”

Organizers: NGO Ukrainian Association of Geologists, and the Institute of Geology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The event was moderated by Natalia Cherniienko, Chair of the Association’s Board, and Olena Andrieieva, Deputy Chair.

Ukrainian geology is increasingly integrating into the global processes of transforming Europe’s geological surveys. Future Master’s students were introduced to European research projects of the Geological Surveys of Europe (EuroGeoSurveys, GSEU project) and the European Federation of Geologists (European Federation of Geologists, CRM-geothermal and CEEGS projects), in which experts from the Ukrainian Association of Geologists are actively involved.

The Association’s projects reflect EU policy announced in Brussels on April 4, 2024, by the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) and the Italian National Council of Geologists (CNG) under the title: “Geologists at the Centre of the Energy Transition and Climate Action.”

The prospective Master’s students expressed keen interest in international geological projects. In turn, the Association invited them to join its activities and become members of the professional community.
