Lviv will host the International Scientific Conference “Current Issues of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals” from 29 September to 1 October 2026, dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the NAS of Ukraine.


Lviv will host the International Scientific Conference “Current Issues of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals”, dedicated to current issues in the geology and geochemistry of combustible minerals and the 75th Anniversary of the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the NAS of Ukraine.

The conference will be held in Lviv in both in-person and online formats. The main topics will cover the geology and geochemistry of oil and gas, stratigraphy, tectonics and geodynamics, unconventional hydrocarbon resources, critical and strategic mineral resources, geotechnologies, environmental issues, and groundwater resources. The working languages are Ukrainian, English and Polish. Participation is free of charge.

A geological field trip in the Carpathians along the Lviv–Boryslav–Lviv route is scheduled for 1 October.

The organizers also report that abstracts may still be submitted by the end of the week, despite the official submission deadline having passed on 31 July.
