To mark the 30th anniversary of the Akademik Vernadsky station, the National Antarctic Scientific Centre invites you to an open online lecture on the geological history of Antarctica.

The speaker, polar explorer and head of geological research Serhii Kadurin, will talk about what the continent was like before glaciation, what plants and animals inhabited it, how geologists study the past through the ice sheet, and what changes are taking place today.

The lecture will be broadcast from the icebreaker Noosphere.

The programme also includes an interactive quiz with memorable prizes for the winners.

No registration is required to participate — simply join the broadcast on the day of the event.
